Trackability guide
Two-step verification and passkeys
Add stronger account protection with an authenticator app or a passkey, if available.
Trackability can provide two-step verification and passkeys as additional ways to protect or access your account. The options shown in Settings → Security depend on the sign-in methods available to you.
The Security page labels this protection Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). These names refer to the same authenticator-code protection in this guide.
Before you start
- Sign in and open Settings → Security.
- Two-step verification is available for accounts that use a password.
- Passkeys can be added only when the Passkeys card is shown.
- Keep access to an existing sign-in method while setting up a new one.
Enable two-step verification
- Find the Multi-Factor Authentication card.
- Select Enable 2-step verification.
- Enter your password to continue.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or enter the setup code manually.
- Enter the verification code generated by the app.
- Save the backup codes in a secure place before closing the final step.
Backup codes are shown only once. Each can help you access your account if your authenticator app is unavailable.
When two-step verification is enabled, Trackability asks for an authenticator code after your usual password sign-in. If the screen offers it, you can use a backup code instead.
Disable two-step verification
- Open Settings → Security.
- In Multi-Factor Authentication, select Disable MFA.
- Review the warning and enter your password.
- Confirm the change.
Disabling this protection means sign-in will no longer require an authenticator code.
Add a passkey
- In Settings → Security, find Passkeys.
- Select Add a passkey.
- Follow your browser or device prompt to use biometrics, a device PIN, or a security key.
- Wait for the success message before leaving the page.
On a later visit, select Sign in with a Passkey if that option appears on the sign-in page, then complete the prompt on your device.
Remove a passkey
In the Passkeys card, find the passkey you no longer use, select Delete, and confirm. Removing a passkey stops that passkey from being used for future sign-ins; your original connected sign-in method remains available.
Troubleshooting
The MFA card is missing
Two-step verification is shown only for accounts with password sign-in. If you use a connected service or email link, continue using the protection offered by that method.
The Passkeys card or sign-in button is missing
Passkeys are not available with every account setup. Use another sign-in method shown by Trackability.
The passkey prompt closes without adding anything
If you dismiss the browser or device prompt, no passkey is added. Select Add a passkey and complete the prompt again.
An authenticator code is rejected
Enter the current code from the authenticator app. If you no longer have access to the app, choose the backup-code option when it is offered.
